Palermo, May 15 2013 - Russian music of the 1800s and 1900s will be the subject of the next concert of the Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana, programmed at the Politeama Garibaldi Friday May 17th at 9.15. Igor Stravinskij, Sergej Rachmaninov and Pëtr Il'ic Cajkovskij are the composers featured in the concert to be conducted by the young Sergio Alapont, a Spanish conductor already embarked on an international career.

Palermo, May 8th 2013 - Michail Glinka, Benjamin Britten and Claude Debussy are the featured composers at the next concert of Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana programmed at the Politeama Garibaldi on Friday May 10th at 9.15 p.m.. The evening will begin at 8.00 p.m., with the Musical Conversation organized by Carlo Lauro "The impressionist wave of Debussy". Marco Vallora, art critic for "La Stampa" in Turin, will examine the musical experience of Debussy together with the impressionist school of painting. Admission is free to the conference, which will be held in the Red Hall.

Palermo, April 17th 2013 - A weekend dedicated to small children at the Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana, with the third and final production in the fourth series of MusicinPlaytime 2012-2013, the musical series dedicated to children under age 14. The production, realized in collaboration with the Academy of Arts of Palermo, is centered on the ballet by Leo Delibes, Coppélia, freely based on "The Tales of Hoffman".

Palermo, April 10th 2013 - The Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana will celebrate Giuseppe Verdi's 200th birthday (1813- 1901) with an evening dedicated entirely to his music. Friday April 12th at 8.30 p.m., Angelo Cavallaro will conduct a concert at the Politeama Garibaldi as homage to the composer from Roncole di Busseto, featuring some of his most famous and beloved overtures and arias. Initially programmed as "Rigoletto partially staged", the program of the Sinfonica was transformed into a "recital", thus avoiding the costs of a full staging and complete cast, no longer sustainable in a period of spending review.

Palermo, April 3rd 2013 - The first appointment with the Orchestra Sinfonica Siciliana at the Politeama Garibaldi for the month of April features well loved children's music: sound tracks from Walt Disney films which have accompanied children throughout the world dating back to the 1940's till today. Friday April 5th at 9.15 p.m. and Saturday April 6th at 5.30 p.m. the Politeama Garibaldi will party with the Disney Concert, a non-subscription event.
